Prezi is a dynamic, web-based presentation tool. Prezi allows users to create non-linear presentations on a single canvas where viewers can navigate both spatially and sequentially. Users can easily embed into Prezi images, links to the web, and YouTube and flash (.flv) videos. Prezi users can also present remotely as well as invite others to work together in real-time on the same project.
Prezi's visual style provides the opportunity for learners to engage with course content in new, innovative ways rather than in a limited, slide-based manner like PowerPoint. Students can click and zoom anywhere on the canvas at any time to quickly view and/or review the content that is most important to them. Because Prezi is relatively easy to use, instructors can ask students to develop Prezis individually or as a group working collaboratively. Prezi, like YouTube, provides the .html code for each presentation.
Go to the following address to create a Prezi: http://prezi.com. Although you can view sample presentations without a username simply by clicking on the “Explore” tab at the top of the page, you will need to sign up for a free account in order to develop a Prezi. The “Learn” tab provides a number of very useful tutorials to help you get started. Feel free to check out the sample Prezi below:
I used Prezi for two in-class presentations. You may look at the result here. Quite interesting tool. http://prezi.com/user/flagrana/
