Bitstrips

Bitstrips is an online comic strip creator.  Users need not have artistic ability to draw one frame, three frame, or custom comic strips.  Bitstrips provides a number of characters, scenes, props, and controls to choose from, and users can develop avatars to populate their creations.  Comic strips can be embedded into a Desire2Learn announcements page or linked to in the Content area.

Bitstrips can be used to promote instructor presence in online courses.  I create a different bitstrip every week to call attention to new news items in the course.  Alternatively, students might develop their own comic strips to demonstrate an understanding of key concepts or higher order thinking skills.
